Vision board

Hi everyone. 3 days until I leave for Peru!! A few weeks ago, Alana made a vision board out of magazines, newspaper clippings, and other written media. After reading the story behind hers (and seeing the process of making her vision board), I flashbacked to middle school and high school when I would clip pictures of Harry Styles, and quotes saying ‘you’re beautiful’ and would litter them on my closet door. I realized that it had been so long since I’d done that and how fun they were to make, so I decided to make my own.

After scouring my entire house for magazines, and only ending up with a few minor ones and a Target catalogue, I got to work on my vision board. I paged through all of them, ripping out pages with cool and warm colors, long quote, short quotes, photographs, etc and laid them aside to cut up.

All of my pages ready to be cut up

After that, I began cutting all of the quotes and photos out from the pages and aligning them on my bulletin board. I had quotes ranging from “happy” to “bitch it out” and photos of kids running up stairs and greenery on tables. After i complied them all together on the board, I put my push pins in each clipping and hung it on my bedroom wall, so whenever I need a bit of motivation or just to know I’m worth it, I can check that board.

Ways to my heart

Despite today being my least favorite holiday on the planet, Jenny over at sitbackandjustlive made a post about some ways to her heart, and because I definitely related to a few of them, I thought I would make one too, cough cough at all of you potential boyfriends out there, read on.

  1.  You love my dog/my dog loves you: While I don’t have a dog right now, I will at some point and I heard once that dogs are the best judge of character. Basically, if my dog doesn’t love you, you have to go. And if you don’t like my dog, just move along. adorable-cute-funny-dog-puppy-animated-gif-35
  2. We have the same/similar Political Views: Basically, if you voted for Trump or accept him as a president, I can’t date you.
  3. Food:This is pretty self-explanatory. Food makes everyone happygiphy-1
  4. Take candid or not so candid photos of me: I need a boyfriend who does this, hell I need friends that do this because my Instagram feed does not have nearly enough pictures of me being uncandidly candid on it.
  5. You know my Starbucks Order: I have 4 Starbucks orders, which can be difficult, but they switch from the seasons, so as long as I get something close, I’ll love you forever.giphy

Well, these are the ways to my heart, what are the ways to yours?

An oldie but a goodie: Homemade Valentines

Hi everyone, with Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, my least favorite holiday, I have decided that I would make some fun homemade Valentines for some super cool people; dogs, my sister, some friends, etc. Before I start this post, I figured I would give you all a little college update: Literally right after I posted my college update post I got an email saying I was accepted into DePaul University and then the next night I checked my Ohio University application and saw that I was also accepted. I AM OFFICIALLY GOING TO COLLEGE. I still have to visit Ohio (tomorrow) and compare financial options but at least I have options.

I mentioned that I missed making homemade Valentines with glitter and doilies and glue and messes and my sister and mom agreed. So, my mom and I raided the $1 section of Target, or as we like to call it the “don’t need anything but want everything” section and got some doilies, glitter, stickers, and some other cheap Valentine making pieces and got to work.

I honestly forgot how fun it was to make Valentines and how much it makes people smile receiving them. It’s one thing to send someone a text saying Happy Valentine’s Day, or to buy those pre-made Spongebob Valentines to bring to school, but sitting down and placing stickers delicately on a doily and then writing ever so neatly a few sweet words and topping it off with glitter is: A. So much more sentimental and B. So much more fun.

Now, while I attempt to get as much of the glitter remnants out of my tablecloth and clothes before I give up and just throw them in the washer, enjoy some photos of the Valentine’s my sister and I made this year for our family and friends.

Dorm DIYs

Hey guys. Being a college girl, we all want fun and decorated rooms, but we don’t have tons of money to spend on these things. So basically, I decided to make some DIY dorm room decorations and post what I did on here for you all to  see.

What I did was just add my own fun twist to two pieces of wood (& sign and arrow) that I bought at Target. Very simple but very cute at the same time

All of my materials needed (all bought from target) Tic Tacs optional 😉

Wooden Arrow

For the wooden arrow, I bought dry erase tape and the arrow wood piece at Target to create a dry erase arrow. This will look very cute outside of my room at home by putting my name on it or will alo look very cute at school on my desk with my daily tasks or random thoughts on it.

Materials

  1. Wooden piece (can be an arrow like mine or even an initial or just a square)
  2. Dry erase tape(or chalkboard tape if you prefer)
  3. Scotch Tape- for securing the Dry erase tape on the back of the wood
  4. Optional- Washi Tape for decorating around the arrow.

Step 1- Measure out the dry erase tape based on the length of the arrow and cut accordingly

Step 2- remove the bottom of the dry erase tape revealing the sticky side. Place the tape on the wooden piece

Step 3- Cut off excess tape or fold over the tape to the back of the wood

Step 4- Use Scotch tape to firmly secure the excess tape on the sides and back of wood

Step 5- Optional… Cover the rim of the wood with Washi Tape for additional support and a little pop to the piece

Step 6- Begin writing on your new mini White board

Project 2- & sign decorations

Materials

  1. Wooden piece (like mentioned before can be & but can be anything else too)
  2. Washi Tape

Step 1. Begin in the middle of the sign my measuring out tape, ripping tape, and placing on sign

Step 2. Continue with this method alternating with as many patterns of washi tape until the whole & is covered

Step 3. Finish by covering the siding of the sign with washi tape for support

Finished. Now you have a super cute letter/sign/symbol in your room. I chose the & because it is the symbol of my fave coffee shop (Coffee &Tea Collective) which you can read about here. And if I do end up going to ASU I’ll always have a little piece of C&T with me.
